This creates 200-500 pounds annual arbitrage income on top of solar self-consumption savings. Most modern batteries (Tesla, Duracell, GivEnergy, Fox, Pylontech) support Octopus Flux automation.

Will a home battery provide backup power during a power cut?

Some yes, some no. Tesla Powerwall 3 includes whole-home or partial-home backup via Backup Gateway. GivEnergy and Duracell Dura5 offer backup with additional hardware. Many smaller batteries (Pylontech, Fox ESS basic) do NOT provide power-cut backup — they pause when the grid goes down. Caledonia Energy Efficiency Ltd does not itself hold MCS, TrustMark, RECC, or NICEIC accreditation. These accreditations are held by our installation partners.
